OpenAI Denies Plans to Leave Europe After Criticism from EU Official
The man behind ChatGPT, Sam Altman, has stated that his company OpenAI has no plans to leave Europe after criticism from the EU's Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton.
Altman had previously suggested that OpenAI could consider leaving the bloc if the EU's upcoming legislation on artificial intelligence was too stringent.
However, Altman later tweeted that he had had "very productive" conversations in Europe and was excited to continue operating in the region.
OpenAI has not yet established an official headquarters in the EU.
