11 new COVID-19 cases reported in Cayman, 6 April
The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Lee, reports that 1,004 COVID-19 tests have been carried out since this was last reported on Thursday, 1 April 2021. Eleven were positive.
The individuals are travellers who tested positive following routine screening. They will remain in isolation until considered recovered.
The number of people in isolation, either at a government facility or in their homes, as required by the Medical Officer of Health, will be provided when available.
The total number of COVID-19 vaccines administered to date is 51,854.
So far, 31,151 (48% of the estimated population of 65,000) have received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, with 32% having completed the two-dose course.
