Community comes together to mourn loss of 19 children in Guyana school dormitory fire
On May 21, 2023, in Guyana, a school dormitory fire resulted in the death of 19 children.
In response to this tragedy, a vigil was held in Tortola, Virgin Islands to mourn the loss and show solidarity with the victims and their families.
The vigil, titled "Light up the Night Vigil," was organized by a Guyanese resident in the Virgin Islands and the Association of Guyanese in the British Virgin Islands.
The event brought together people from all walks of life to Cyril B.

The vigil included a minute of silence, the lighting of candles in the formation of a heart, and speeches from government officials and others.
