Earlier today, the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands (MEYSAL) was presented with the award for Most Improved Government Body by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for having updated its financials for the periods 2016-2017, 2018 and 2019 over seven months and for also achieving an unqualified audit for these periods.
The newly instituted award, which was presented during a ceremony in the meeting chamber of the Legislative Assembly, was collected by Acting Chief Officer Lyneth Monteith and Chief Financial Officer Nicola Wildman.
“This is a moment of excellence and is a testament to the hard work and diligence in the Ministry’s Finance Unit. Our Finance team has worked long hours, and this is a tangible recognition of that hard work,” said Mrs. Monteith.
Mrs. Wildman further expressed her gratitude for the hard work of past and present staff that has led up to this occasion.
The Ministry also received awards in recognition of achieving unqualified audits for the years 2018 and 2019.
Similar awards were presented to Ministry of EYSAL statutory bodies, Water Authority Cayman and the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI), among others.
