The Republic of Panama has proceeded to establish the temporary suspension of entry into the national territory of people from the United Kingdom and South Africa, where new mutations of the coronavirus have been detected that make it more contagious.
The entry into the national territory is suspended temporarily from people, who have stayed or passed through the United Kingdom and the Republic of South Africa in the last 20 days before entering the country, whether they do so via air, land or sea, using commercial or private means, establishes Resolution No. 1390.
It details that Panamanian citizens or residents who enter the country under the aforementioned conditions, upon arrival in the country must carry out a PCR or antigen test, in addition, regardless of the result, they must remain in quarantine in a hospital hotel for the time determined by the health authorities, in order to verify that they are not infected with the new strain of
COVID-19.
It is worth mentioning that different countries in the region have also imposed restrictions on flights from the United Kingdom, which is adopted by Panama despite not having director passenger flights from this country, but there is a risk that this new variation of
COVID-19 can enter the country through the transport of people, whether by air, land or sea, coming from different latitudes, for which it is essential to adopt measures to prevent this possibility.
