Shortly after 8:30 PM on Friday, 12 February, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Watercourse Road and Hell Road in West Bay, involving a police service vehicle and a gold Honda Accord.
The vehicles collided and the service vehicle then collided with a nearby fence, causing damage. The service vehicle received minor damage, while the Honda was heavily damaged. Both drivers were breath tested, and the driver of the Accord was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Emergency Services attended the scene and the officer driving the service vehicle was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for minor injuries and subsequently discharged. The driver of the Accord, a man age 46 of West Bay, was uninjured and was later granted bail.
Shortly after 9:30PM on Saturday, 13 February, officers responded to a traffic collision on Shedden Road, west of Vibert Bodden Drive, involving a white Toyota Aristo and a grey Volkswagen Golf. The Toyota had left the roadway, overturned, and collided with a fence and the Volkswagen which was parked at the location. Both vehicles received significant damage. The driver of the Toyota was breath tested and found to be over the legal limit. He complained of experiencing pain and was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The Volkswagen was unoccupied at the time.
