The Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, on June 16 reports 993 COVID-19 tests which have been carried out since Friday’s press release.
These numbers are reported from the end of Friday, Saturday, then again on Monday over the holiday weekend just passed in celebration of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday.
There are 6 positive results assumed to be locally acquired cases. These people are asymptomatic and were picked up through screening; contact tracing has started.
So far there are 193 total cases of
COVID-19 in Cayman Islands.
123 patients have recovered.
One person has died from the virus.
A total of 18,220 tests have been conducted.
Globally there are over 8 million infected
COVID-19 cases.
