US: At least 41 killed in storms in New York and surrounding areas
New York City police said 12 people were killed, while three others were killed in the Westchester suburb.
At least 41 people died in and around New York affected by torrential rains and historic flash floods overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, authorities said, reporting a constantly changing balance sheet.
"I am saddened to report that so far at least 23 New Jerseyans have lost their lives in this storm," New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy told reporters.
New York City police said 12 people were killed, while three others were killed in the Westchester suburb, according to officials. In addition, three people also died near Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
